Solana micropayments
Solana makes tiny on-chain payments practical — transfers of 0.001 SOL or less cost almost nothing in network fees. This guide explains how wallet and Solana Pay QR micropayments work, then lets you try a live practice roll on Garden Dice below.
What is a Solana micropayment?
A micropayment is a small SOL transfer on Solana mainnet — often 0.001 to 0.01 SOL — sent from your wallet to a recipient address. Unlike credit-card minimums, Solana fees are typically well under $0.01, so pay-per-use products (games, tips, unlocks) can charge fractions of a cent in SOL.
Garden Dice uses this model: you pay from 0.001 SOL per roll, the payment goes to a public treasury you can verify on Solscan, and you get a provably fair on-chain result. Entertainment only — not a casino with cash payouts.
Two ways to pay (wallet vs QR)
- Desktop wallet connect — install Phantom or Solflare, connect to this page, approve one transfer. Best when you already use a browser extension.
- Mobile Solana Pay QR — open the Solana Pay tab in the pay panel above, scan with your phone wallet, confirm in the app. No extension required.
For a deep dive on QR codes, read the Solana Pay QR guide. New to wallets? Start the wallet path.
Practice with a 0.001 SOL roll
- Free demo first — click Free demo roll above. No wallet, no SOL. Same commit-reveal fairness as paid rolls.
- Pick 0.001 SOL — in the pay panel, choose the smallest amount for your first real micropayment.
- Approve once — wallet connect or scan the QR; wait for on-chain confirmation, then see your official roll.
- Verify on Solscan — copy the transaction link and confirm the amount landed at the treasury address.

Why micropayments on Solana?
Low fees and fast finality make Solana suitable for small, frequent payments — tipping creators, unlocking content, or trying a wallet-native game without committing large amounts. Garden Dice is a simple example: one transfer, one verifiable outcome, shareable challenge links for friends.
FAQ
How small can a Solana payment be?
Garden Dice starts at 0.001 SOL per roll. You can pick up to 0.01 SOL. Network fees are separate and usually much smaller than the payment itself.
Is 0.001 SOL safe to try?
At typical SOL prices, 0.001 SOL is a fraction of a dollar plus a tiny network fee. Always double-check the recipient address and amount in your wallet before approving.
What if my wallet rejects the transaction?
Ensure you have enough SOL for the payment plus fees, that you are on mainnet (not devnet), and that your wallet is unlocked. See the connect Phantom guide if the site cannot connect.
Can I verify the payment landed?
Yes. After rolling, open the Solscan link or use the transaction lookup tool with your signature.
