Solana wallet cleanup — hide spam and reclaim rent
A cluttered token list and locked rent make your wallet harder to use. Clean up in two steps: hide scam airdrops, then close empty accounts to recover SOL. Pick the guide that matches your task below, then practice a 0.001 SOL roll in the panel under this page.
Pick your cleanup task
Most users need one or both of these guides. Both include Phantom, Solflare, and Backpack steps.
| Problem | What to do | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Unknown spam tokens | Hide junk airdrops; avoid phishing links in token names | Solana spam tokens |
| Locked rent on empty accounts | Close empty SPL token accounts; recover ~0.002 SOL each | Reclaim Solana rent |
| Balance looks wrong | Verify mainnet SOL on-chain before closing accounts | Wallet balance checker |
Recommended cleanup order
Work on mainnet only. Closing accounts costs a tiny network fee per transaction.
- Hide spam tokens — remove UI clutter without on-chain fees. See spam tokens guide.
- Optional: burn worthless dust — only through your official wallet app, never via unknown sites.
- Close empty token accounts — reclaim rent locked in accounts with zero balance. See rent reclaim guide.
- Check your SOL balance — confirm recovered lamports with the balance checker.
Cleanup vs payment errors
Low balance after cleanup? You may still need more SOL for micropayments plus fees.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Too many random tokens | Spam airdrops to your public address | Hide spam tokens |
| SOL locked but balance feels low | Rent in empty token accounts | Reclaim rent |
| Payment says insufficient SOL | Need payment plus network fee | Insufficient SOL hub |
| Close transaction failed | Fee too low, wrong network, or popup blocked | Transaction failed hub |
After cleanup
- Demo roll — try Garden Dice free in the panel above.
- Pay on mainnet — wallet connect or Solana Pay QR for 0.001 SOL.
- First payment help — if anything fails, read your first Solana payment.
Stuck at payment?
Finished cleanup but the roll still fails? Double-check that empty accounts are closed (not just hidden) and that you have enough spendable SOL for the roll plus network fees.
- Reclaim Solana rent — close empty token accounts and recover about 0.002 SOL each.
- Solana spam tokens — hide junk airdrops before closing their empty accounts.
- Solana insufficient SOL — compare Phantom, Solflare, and Backpack balance fixes.
- Solana transaction failed — wrong network, cancelled approval, or detection lag.
- Solana Pay not working — QR scan, wrong amount, or paid-but-not-detected on mobile.

FAQ
- Is wallet cleanup safe?
- Hiding tokens and closing empty accounts through your official wallet app is standard hygiene. Never connect to a site promoted inside a spam token name.
- Will cleanup stop future airdrops?
- No. Your address stays public on-chain. Hiding keeps your list readable; it does not block new junk.
- Can reclaimed rent pay for Garden Dice?
- Yes. Recovering 0.002 SOL from one empty account covers many 0.001 SOL rolls plus network fees.
- Do I need extra SOL for network fees?
- Yes — keep a little extra beyond the roll. The base fee is about 0.000005 SOL per transfer. See Solana transaction fees.
- I cleaned my wallet but payment still says insufficient — why?
- Hidden tokens still have on-chain accounts locking rent until you close them. Run rent reclaim or check spendable balance with the wallet balance checker.
