Phantom — easiest if you are new
Phantom is the default recommendation for first-time Solana users. The browser extension connects in one click; the mobile app scans Solana Pay QR codes cleanly.
Solflare — strong on mobile
Solflare is popular outside the US and has a polished mobile app. If you already use Solflare for DeFi or staking, keep it — Garden Dice detects Solflare connect and Solana Pay the same way.
Backpack — for power users
Backpack targets traders and NFT collectors. If it is already your daily wallet, connect it on desktop or scan from the Backpack mobile app — no need to install Phantom.
How to pay on any wallet
- Demo first — use the panel above or Garden Dice to see commit-reveal fairness without spending SOL.
- Mainnet + balance — your wallet must be on Mainnet Beta with a little SOL (0.01 SOL is plenty to start). Network fees are tiny — see fee explainer.
- Desktop: open the Wallet tab in the pay panel, connect Phantom/Solflare/Backpack, pick 0.001 SOL, confirm.
- Mobile: open the Solana Pay tab, scan the QR with your wallet app, approve, then tap detect if needed.
Stuck at payment?
If your wallet says insufficient SOL even though your balance looks fine, part of it may be rent-locked in empty token accounts from spam airdrops — only spendable SOL counts for payments.
- Reclaim Solana rent — close empty token accounts and recover about 0.002 SOL each.
- Solana wallet cleanup — hide spam tokens, reclaim rent, and check spendable balance.
- Solana insufficient SOL — compare Phantom, Solflare, and Backpack balance fixes.
- Solana transaction failed — wrong network, cancelled approval, or detection lag.
- Solana Pay not working — QR scan, wrong amount, or paid-but-not-detected on mobile.
FAQ
- Which wallet is fastest to set up?
- Phantom — largest tutorial ecosystem and the default in our wallet path. Solflare and Backpack are fine if you already use them.
- Can I switch wallets later?
- Yes. Garden Dice does not lock you to one wallet. Each roll is an independent SOL transfer to the public treasury.
- Is this gambling?
- No cash payouts. Pay-per-roll entertainment with provably fair hashing — not a casino.
- Do I need extra SOL for network fees?
- Yes — keep a little extra beyond the roll. The base fee is about 0.000005 SOL per transfer. See Solana transaction fees.
- I have SOL but payment says insufficient — why?
- Your total balance can include SOL locked as rent in empty token accounts. Close them to reclaim about 0.002 SOL each — wallet cleanup or rent reclaim.
